About Us
Core Values
Focusing on the needs of each child, ensuring our therapy is Holistic, Dynamic and Functional.
Holistic
Definition: Adjective- characterized by the belief that the parts of something or someone are intimately interconnected and explicable only by reference to the whole.
The development of the whole child is essential in ensuring a child’s wellbeing, learning and growth. Holistic development occurs when the child is cared for in these 3 main major domains: Communication, Psychosocial and Physical Self. Here at Speech bubbles, we consider all aspects of a child’s development and aim to help your child to develop holistically, to be a balanced and well-equipped individual to take on life’s challenges.
Dynamic
Definition: Adjective- (of a process or system) characterized by constant change, activity, or progress.
Learning speech and language is optimised through a dynamic approach. Acquired skills would then be more readily generalised and implemented in day to day exchanges. A dynamic approach would also help children ‘learn to think’, and make sense of the world around them; by teaching them to gather available information, processing details and constantly gaining new revelations. Static drills, have their place in the process of learning, but here at Speech Bubbles, we believe that therapy is so more than just acquiring a skill, its preparing the child for the future.
Functional
Definition: Adjective- used to contribute to the development or maintenance of a larger whole; to be practical and useful.
A skill learnt is only as useful as it is functional. Often, Children are able learn new words and concepts and use them well in school but have difficulty using these words/ concepts in their day to day communication. Here at Speech Bubbles, we believe in integrating skills learnt with the daily exchanges and routines. This approach has a higher efficacy in learning speech and language and promotes a better generalisation of skills learnt.
